North Shore Logging Update

We have received an update from Geoff Peck regarding logging on Peck Lands along North Shore Road. Until further notice Peck property East of Beaver Bay Creek, including trails, are “off limits” per the Pecks. Below is the notice from Geoff Peck regarding the logging operation. If you have questions or concerns contact info for Geoff and Tammy Warner are included at the bottom of the message and you should contact them directly.

“Plans are moving forward for our timber harvest on North Shore Road. Equipment will begin to appear on-site as early as the end of this week. A landing will be built near the end of North Shore Road, and operations will start in the coming days. The forecasted cold weather will accelerate frost depth and provide as firm a working surface as can be expected. To mitigate debris in the woods, all the tree tops will be moved to the landing and chipped into hopper trucks for removal. This is an equipment-intensive operation, and residents can expect a very active landing. We ask that residents stay clear of the landing and the worksite as of 12/5/25. The worksite is defined as all Peck lands from Beaver Bay Creek to the Earthen Dam. Timbering can be a dangerous business. The people working in the woods are trained, insured professionals, and the site is subject to OSHA regulations. I cannot stress strongly enough the importance of respecting the access restriction to the entire area. We will issue notice when operations are complete and the area is safe to access. Our forest managers will be at the site daily, monitoring operations, and have instructed the work crews to respect the posted speed limits on North Shore Road. Any questions may be directed to Geoff Peck at 518-470-8321 or Tammy Warner at 518-725-5617.”
