From Bleecker Councilperson Shawn Croucher: want to post here to update all on the roadwork being conducted on North Shore, Maplewood, and Hemlock, roads. There have been concerns raised about the large aggregate, the lack of asphalt in the mix and the raveling of stones. I met with Jeff Brooks the highway superintendent and discussed these issues, as Jeff is actively loading the aggregate for the trucks to try to keep the cost down.
Jeff advised that the aforesaid conditions were by design. A top sealer coat will be applied later on which will address. The idea is for cars to help to contract this layer, and the sealer will bind and fill when applied.
