SUMMARY:Buoy Prep – Volunteers Needed!
DESCRIPTION:It’s that time of year we’ve all been patiently waiting for. Of course\, I mean buoy prep day. This is when all the hazard buoys come out of their long winter hibernation\, and get spiffed up\, painted\, repaired and readied for another summer season on the lake helping keep everyone safe. \n\n\n\nAll of this doesn’t happen without the help of dedicated volunteers. Lots of tasks are available from helping and carrying\, sorting\, painting\, knot tying\, replacing anchors\, assembly of parts\, as well as supervisory roles with clipboards checking that all are present\, lined up in order and ready for deployment in the following week. No previous experience required. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAll this “fun” takes place Saturday\, May 9th starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Marina lower barn and usually lasts about 2 hours. \n\n\n\nPlease come out and join us. On August 9 between 6:00 AM and noon\, you could also be a part of raising funds to support our exceptional fish population\, enjoy the fellowship of others who love and respect our abundant fishery and compete with as a participant in the annual Peck Lake Fishing Derby!Our Fishing Derby is a day of enjoyment\, entertainment and all-around fun while taking in all our lake has to offer… Although the Derby starts at 6:00 AM\, you can participate any time you wish until noon. Remember\, all profit from this event is dedicated to our fish stocking program!Fish will be weighed and released at the marina between 9:00AM and noon. After the weigh-in is complete\, prizes will be awarded for youth and adults and lunch will be served in the pavilion. We will also conduct our much-anticipated raffle with many valuable prizes awarded! Our raffle will include local restaurant vouchers\, fishing gear (including two custom-made fishing rods)\, and many other great prizes! We will also have a 50/50 drawing as part of the after- Derby activities.This is a wonderful opportunity for families as we have a separate youth (up to 12) competition for your children and grandchildren.You can register at the marina in the week preceding the derby (also pick up lures\, live bait and Peck Lake merch)\, including the morning of the event. The entry fee is $10.00 adult / $5.00 youth. Forms and fees must be returned to the marina prior to beginning to fish. All participants must be registered prior to fishing. All NY state fishing regulations are enforced including length limits for fish species weighed.

SUMMARY:Summer Solstice Boat Party
DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate the first day of summer with your Peck’s Lake friends and neighbors. All are welcome! We will gather in the bay approximately one fourth of a mile from the last house on North Shore Road–the northeast corner of the lake. Some residents know this bay as Cranberry Cove but oddly there are no cranberries at the cove. This is a “bring your own beverage event\,” so pack accordingly. Items to share with others attendees are encouraged. \n\n\n\nWe plan to lash the attending boats together so bring mooring ropes\, an anchor and bumpers to protect other boats. We will have individuals to assist in the boat joining procedure. They will direct individuals that wish to join the party.  \n\n\n\nRemember to approach the group very slowly and ramming speed is not acceptable! Since the access between the boats are variable\, the exact configuration of the joining will be determined as boats join the party. This event is weather dependent\, so use your best judgment as to suitable weather conditions for your taste. Check the PLPA website for any announcements of cancellation. \n\n\n\nPlease consider attending this event because it is an excellent occasion to meet people in our lake community. \n\n\n\nQuestions? This will take you to the sign-up form. \n\n\n\nPayment:  Please drop off your check (made out to Colleen Mosenthin) to Lisa Hanger (553 S. Shore after May 20) or Karen Mulrooney (664 N. Shore after May 22) and pay in full for your basket. Without payment your spot is not held.  \n\n\n\nThere will 8 basket types you can choose from in this 5 hour class. DESCRIPTION:A Wandering Wednesday Event! Kayak Gathering for PLPA every first and third Wednesday of the month starting June 4th. Meet at Beaver Bay ramp at 10:00 AM and we will explore  the lake. DESCRIPTION:Join the Ladies of the Lake for a Brunch and Hike along the North Shore Trails. Brunch at 10am and Hike to begin at 12pm.  \n\n\n\nSaturday June\, 710am – 2pm *323 North ShoreBRUNCH!! \n\n\n\nThis year we will gather first at 10am then hike up to the Vly.Please bring a BRUNCH item to share (don’t go over board … LOL as everyone will be bringing something if they can)I will have a Mimosa and Bloody Mary “bar”!Dress accordingly as this is an outside event. In the case of inclement weather (you know\, rain\, snow …) the event will be held at the Carlsons at 313 North Shore.Please give me a “heads up” if you are attending so we can plan ahead with food\, drinks\, seating etc … any questions do not hesitate to contact via text at 518-248-7350 (make sure you say who you are as not all of you are programmed into my phone 😀) \n\n\n\n\nthe event has an end time due to the Wine/Food Festival scheduled the same day in Gloversville that begins at 3!
